Sunalta Winter Solstice Evening – A Huge Success!

Busking - A huge thank you to Mr. Clarke for playing throughout the evening! The good news is that we will be donating $190.00 to the Awo Taan Indigenous Women’s Emergency Shelter and Healing Lodge on behalf of Sunalta School.

Bake Sale - Our Grade 6 Grad Committee hosted an amazing Bake Sale and raised $2,800! A huge thank you to the committee for organizing this event and to all the volunteers who helped throughout the day and evening. Thank you as well to all the families who provided such delicious baked goods. A special shout-out to our Grade 6 students who worked at the Bake Sale — they showed wonderful leadership and represented our school beautifully. Thank you, everyone, for your generosity and support!

Hot Chocolate - A huge thank you to our School Council for sponsoring the Hot Chocolate Station! It was such a hit with students and families that we actually ran out — a true sign of its success! We’re so grateful for the ongoing support and the cozy winter cheer this brought to our school community.

Arriving on Time

A reminder that school begins at 8:40am. Students are expected to be in their classrooms and ready to start learning right after the bell. Please plan to leave home a few minutes earlier to ensure your child arrives on time. Late arrivals can be very disruptive to the flow of learning in the classroom. Thank you for helping support a smooth start to each school day!

Parking, Drop-Off, and Pick-Up Safety

To help keep all our students safe, please remember the following:

  • Do not park on, drop off or pick up Sonora Ave.
  • Do not complete U-turns in the school zone.
  • Do not use the staff parking lot for drop-off or pick-up at any time.

Thank you for doing your part to ensure a safe and smooth arrival and dismissal for everyone.

The Giving Tree

Thank you for the gift cards we have already received—your generosity is truly appreciated. Our Giving Tree is beginning to fill with ornaments! This holiday season, we are once again supporting Sunalta families who may need a little extra help. Instead of sponsoring individual families, we are collecting gift cards to distribute where they’re needed most. If you’d like to contribute, please send a gift card of any amount to the school office during the first few weeks of December. Grocery, gas, coffee, and toy store gift cards—or any other thoughtful options—are all welcome. Each student who donates will receive an ornament to hang on The Giving Tree. Our hope is to see it full by the end of December as a symbol of our community’s generosity. Thank you for helping us support one another and spread holiday spirit throughout the Sunalta community.
