Traffic and Parking Safety Reminder
City of Calgary signage is posted around Sunalta School to support student safety. All drivers are expected to follow this signage at all times. School staff are outside before and after school to help ensure students arrive and leave safely. When staff politely ask drivers to move along due to double parking or stopping in no-stopping or no-parking zones, this direction must be followed.
Being abusive, confrontational, or using inappropriate language toward staff is unacceptable and does not reflect the values of our school community and the CBE. If unsafe parking continues or staff experience further abusive behaviour, these drivers will be reported to the City of Calgary through 311.
We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school community safe and respectful for all students and staff.
Valentine’s Day 2026
We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day at school on Wednesday, February 11,
2026. If students wish to write Valentine wishes or cards to their classmates, that is a very thoughtful and welcome gesture. Please note that our classrooms are
Allergy Aware, and in alignment with the CBE Healthy Eating policy, we ask
that families do not send whole class treats or food items. These can be
disruptive to the learning environment and may pose safety concerns for some
Students. If students would like to include a small gift with their Valentine, it must be non-food related. Examples of appropriate items include:
• pencils
• erasers
• stickers or fake tattoos
Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep our classroom safe,
inclusive, and focused on learning. We appreciate your cooperation and look
forward to a fun day that is filled with kindness.
Student Surveys – February
During the month of February, students in Grades 4–6 will be participating in perception surveys during class time with their classroom teacher and Ms. Wright.
- Grade 4 students will complete the Alberta Education and Child Care Student Survey.
- Grade 5 and 6 students will complete the CBE Student Survey.
These surveys provide valuable feedback that helps inform school and system planning.
