It has been a wonderful week at Sunalta School. It was great to meet some of you before and after school too. I look forward to meeting more families in the weeks and months as we round out this fantastic school year.

Grade 1 Chicks Have Hatched!
Our Grade 1 classrooms have been chirping with excitement as we welcomed fluffy new chicks and ducklings into the world. Students have been learning all about life cycles and caring for living things. It’s been an egg-cellent experience for all!
Field Trip Fun
Grade 1 students recently enjoyed a wonderful field trip to Ralph Klein Park. They explored wetlands, learned about local wildlife, and had a fantastic time connecting with nature.
Community Walks
All of our classes have been getting outside and enjoying the fresh air on regular community walks. It’s a great way for students to stay active, build awareness of their surroundings, and appreciate our beautiful neighborhood.
School Council – Change of Date
Please be advised the next School Council meeting has been changed. Instead of being held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, it will now be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 6:30-7:30pm in the Sunalta School Library. We look forward to seeing you there.
Think-a-Thon
Drum roll please...This year’s Think-a-Thon raised a whopping $7223.90! You smashed the $7000 goal amount! A huge thank you to the School Council for organizing such a fabulous event and to everyone who had a hand in making this event so successful!
Volunteer Appreciation Update
We want to take a moment to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of you who volunteer your time, energy, and talents to enrich the learning experiences of our students. Whether you're helping in classrooms, organizing events, joining classes on fieldtrip and community walks or supporting behind the scenes, your generosity makes a world of difference. This year, as a token of our deep appreciation, our students are working on something truly special: a beautiful, handmade gift created with love and care. These student-crafted creations reflect the spirit of gratitude we feel for everything you do. Stay tuned for when these lovely gifts will be coming home. Thank you for being such an important part of our Sunalta community!
Non-instructional Day and Victoria Day
Just a reminder, Friday, May 16, 2025, is a non-instructional day for students. There is no school for students on this day. Also, Monday, May 19, 2025, is Victoria Day for students and staff. There is no school on this day either. We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. We miss you already!
