Scholastic Book Fair – This Week!
We’re excited to welcome students and families to our Scholastic Book Fair!
Monday–Thursday:
11:00am–2:30pm – Classes will visit the fair to browse and may purchase items if they bring money.
Thursday Evening:
4:00–7:30pm – Open to all families.
Friday:
8:30am–12:00pm – Open to families for final purchases.
This is a wonderful opportunity to pick up a new book for your home library or even a holiday gift or two. The Book Fair is also a great fundraiser for our school library.
A huge thank-you to our School Council and all of the volunteers for organizing and running this event—we truly appreciate your support!
Learning Conferences:
We look forward to connecting with you. Please make sure you book an appointment with your child's classroom teacher through the MyCBE app.
Conferences will take place on:
- Thursday, November 27 from 4:00–8:00pm
- Friday, November 28 from 8:30am–12:30pm
Kindergarten families: one-to-one conferences with Ms. Kangles were held at the end of September prior to the teacher's job action, so Kindergarten will not participate in conferences this round. Once Ms. Kangles returns from her leave, we will connect with kindergarten families for next steps.
Lost and Found Reminder
Our Lost and Found is growing quickly and has started to take over the hallway! When you’re in the school for Learning Conferences this week, please take a moment to look through the items and claim anything that belongs to your child. Any unclaimed items will be donated at Winter Break.
Winter Solstice Evening – December 4
Join us for our first annual Winter Solstice Evening on December 4 as we come together to celebrate the winter season. Families are invited to enjoy hot chocolate, the Grade 6 bake sale, K–3 musical performances, student and staff buskers, and a variety of classroom activities. We will also be supporting families in need through The Giving Tree gift card donation initiative.
We look forward to seeing you for an evening of warmth, connection, and community spirit!
Bake Sale – December 4, 2025
The Grade 6 Graduation Committee is excited to announce a Bake Sale Fundraiser taking place during the school day and again in the evening at the Winter Solstice event on December 4th! We’ll be offering a delicious assortment of treats for purchase, with all proceeds supporting our Grade 6 students. Funds raised will help provide a memorable year-end celebration, yearbooks for every Grade 6 student, and a special legacy gift for the school to be enjoyed for years to come. Students will have the first opportunity to purchase items during school hours on December 4th, so please consider sending money with your child that day. The bake sale will then reopen for families and the community at the Winter Solstice event starting at 4:00 p.m.

The Giving Tree
This holiday season, we are once again supporting Sunalta families who may need a little extra help. Instead of sponsoring individual families, we will be collecting gift cards to distribute where they’re needed most. If you’d like to contribute, please send a gift card of any amount to the school office during the first few weeks of December. Grocery, gas, coffee, toy stores, or any other thoughtful options are all appreciated. Each student who donates will receive an ornament to hang on The Giving Tree—our hope is to see it full by the end of December as a symbol of our community’s generosity. Thank you for helping us support one another and spread Holiday Spirit throughout our Sunalta community.

School Council – Change of Date
Please note we have changed the date for the November School Council Date. It is now going to be on Tuesday, November 25 at 6:30-7:30pm. Everyone is welcome and we would love to see some new faces join us.
November Dates:
- November 25, 2025 – School Council at 6:30-7:30pm
- November 27 (evening) and 28 (morning) - Learning Conferences
December Dates:
- December 4, 2025 - Winter Solstice Evening between 4:00-6:00pm
- December 10, 2025 – Lifetouch Picture Retake Day
- December 19, 2025 – Last Day of Classes before Winter Break
