Welcome Back

We had a great first few days back in school, and we were so happy to see everyone’s smiling faces. We want to extend our gratitude to families for your understanding as we focus our attention on teaching and learning in classrooms with our students over the coming weeks.

We also appreciate your patience while we review adjustments to upcoming events before communicating those out to families. Some of those adjustments are contingent on information shared by CBE to principals last week, and some are in consultation with the teachers in the coming days. As soon as we have any updated information, we will share it with you.

Remembrance Day Assembly

We will be holding our Remembrance Day Assembly this Friday, November 7, 2025, at 10:30am. You are all invited to join us for this very important assembly. Due to tight timelines, this will be a pared-down version of what you may have seen in previous years; however, we will still take this time to honour our veterans and those currently serving in the military.

If you would like to contribute to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund, please send your child with your donation. We will ensure that all contributions are placed in the collection box located in the school office.

Students who are members of Cubs, Scouts, Girl Guides, or youth military organizations are encouraged to wear their uniforms on Friday.

A special thank you to our Grade 6 students for leading this assembly and to the teachers who have generously provided additional time outside of instructional hours to ensure this important event takes place.

Fall Break Nov. 10-12

Fall break will proceed as scheduled. After careful consideration, CBE decided that changing the school calendar at this time would impact staffing, transportation, as well as family plans already in place. If other adjustments to the school calendar are necessary, families will be notified as early as possible.

IPP’s

CBE has extended the IPP timeline to allow time for teachers to re-affirm student needs and goals and communicate with families. Teachers will be in touch with families during the week of November 24th to discuss the IPP.

School Photo Day

We have re-scheduled our Lifetouch Photo Day for November 19th, this will be for individual and class pictures too. The retakes will be on December 10th.

Sunalta School Jacket Racket

With cooler weather quickly approaching, we want to ensure all our families have access to warm winter clothing. If your family would benefit from some support accessing winter clothing, please fill out the following survey and we will work to collect clothing to keep everyone toasty and warm!
