Terry Fox Assembly & Run – Thursday, September 19
On Thursday, September 19, we will gather for a school-wide assembly at 11:00am, followed by the Terry Fox Run at 11:30am on the school field and in the community. Families are warmly invited to join us to cheer on our students and be part of this special event.
This year, Kindergarten, Grades 1 & 2 will run on the school field. Grades 3, 4, 5, & 6 will be running our community route, which is a little shorter this year and allows us to avoid crossing as many roads making it safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
Each year, schools across Canada take part in the Terry Fox Run to honour Terry’s dream of raising money for cancer research. The funds collected go directly to the Terry Fox Foundation, supporting vital research that helps patients and families across the country.
We encourage students to bring a simple “Toonie for Terry” as a meaningful way to contribute. Donations can also be made online through our school’s fundraising page:

Thank you for helping us keep Terry’s legacy alive and for supporting this important cause!
Thank You for Supporting Student Safety
A big thank you to our school community for following the new parking zones around the school. By using Scarboro Avenue and Scotland Street for drop-off and pick-up, you’ve made a huge impact on student safety. We’ve received lots of positive feedback from the community, and the crosswalk is now much clearer for students to cross safely.
Let’s keep it up—your efforts truly make a difference!
Surveys for the 2025–2026 School Year
Sunalta School students will be participating in online School Perception Surveys in the coming weeks. The surveys are designed to gather valuable feedback about students’ experiences at school.
The survey questions vary depending on the age of the student, and all students will be supported throughout the process with reading and understanding the questions as needed.
