Hello Sunalta Families!

Spring has truly sprung at Sunalta! Our classes are taking advantage of moments of sunshine and warmth by learning on the land. Many classes have been going on community walks, Mr. Castle’s Grade 4 students investigated tributaries along the Bow River, and many classes were spotted on egg hunts in our naturalization area!

No School on Friday and Monday

Students at Sunalta are eager to HOP into the long weekend! Please note that there will be no school on Monday and Tuesday. Enjoy the extended break and Happy Easter to our families who celebrate!

Grade 2 Earth Day Assembly – Tuesday

On Tuesday, our Grade 2 students will be hosting a special Earth Day assembly. We encourage everyone to show their support for our planet by wearing green and blue. Let’s make this Earth Day memorable!

Quack! Chirp! Exciting New Arrivals in Grade 1!

We’re thrilled to announce that duck and chick eggs have arrived in Grade 1! The students are eagerly awaiting the hatching of these adorable little creatures while learning about animal life cycles. Stay tuned for updates on their progress!

School Council Update

At yesterday's School Council meeting, Grade 2 students gave a wonderful presentation, sharing what they've been learning, including using coding the Ozobots to follow the story map of a fairy tale! We also had the bittersweet moment of saying farewell to our beloved principal, Christine. We are so grateful for her leadership and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

Think-A-Thon Update

Our Think-A-Thon fundraising event is off to a great start! Thank you to everyone who has participated so far. Go to sunaltaschool.ca to donate now and learn more! The children love being able to contribute to their school's success by raising funds and enjoy working with their Buddies on this fun quiz that celebrates learning! Keep those donations coming as we aim to reach our fundraising goals to support various school programs and initiatives. Thank you for your contribution and for supporting Sunalta School!

Healthy Hunger – Volunteers Needed!

We are looking for volunteers to help with the Healthy Hunger program. If you have some time to spare, please consider signing up. Your support helps ensure the smooth running of this fantastic initiative that provides students with healthy lunch options. Email sunaltachair@gmail.com for more information!

That’s all for this week! Have a wonderful break, and we’ll see you soon.

Warm regards,
The Sunalta School Team
