Dear Staff and Parents/Guardians 

On behalf of the Calgary Board of Education, I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for the leadership and service that Principal Christine McCory has provided during her tenure as principal of Sunalta. Specifically, I have valued Christine’s experience, leadership and insight as she has skillfully and strategically led the entire learning community forward. I look forward to continuing to work with Christine as the principal who is opening Windsor Park. 

I am also very pleased to announce that Ms Hilary Wright will be the new principal of Sunalta School, commencing on May 5, 2025. Principal Wright is an experienced educator who has served as teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal in CBE and brings a depth of pedagogical understanding along with strong values of student-centred decision making. Please read Principal Wright’s letter of introduction below. 

The CBE welcomes input from parents, students and staff and in order to inform any new principal as to what you value in a principal and in Sunalta School. I would be pleased to receive your thoughts in this regard from staff, students and parents regarding the programming and leadership attributes you value.
