I hope everyone has some joyful activities planned, as well as family time to slow down and enjoy each other (with some time outside in the sunshine).
March 19 marks the Spring Equinox and is known as a season of new beginnings and growth. One of our special CBE Elders, Saa’kokoto writes, “This is a time to acknowledge all the beautiful changes…Springtime is a time of celebration. It is also a time of reflection – to look back and learn from the journey we have had throughout the year and how we can catty that forward.”
Student-led Conferences: Staff and students are ready to share all of the exciting learning that has been occurring around Sunalta School. Student-led means that students will be sharing activities and their work with their families in a celebratory way. This is another way to share communication to support families to understand how their child is progressing and learning. We hope you enjoy this experience!
Sunalta School students experienced a groovy hip hop dance residency with Pulse Dance Studio in March. Kids learned the coffee grinder, how to pop and lock, break and windmill. The final performance was a huge hit! Thanks and gratitude to our amazing instructors (and former Sunalta alumni) Ryan, Eli, and Everett.
Whale of a Tale Book Sale: Our book sale was a tremendous success! Grade 1s raised over $1000 for PADS service dogs. Thank you to our Sunalta school community for sending in the books and puzzles for the sale.
