As we approach Thanksgiving, our week at Sunalta school has been filled with gratitude, community, and opportunities to enjoy the beautiful colours and magic fall brings. Our students’ curiousity was sparked as they enthusiastically shared their wonder and awe in seeing the vibrant Northern Lights from their own backyards. Many of our classes have spent time sketching, journaling, and collecting leaves to create beautiful fall artwork that has brought a sense of warmth to our hallways. Opportunities for reflection and practicing mindfulness and gratitude in classrooms have continued to strengthen our classroom communities. We also had the chance to put on our best smiles, and create some memories during our Picture Day – we look forward to seeing our photos soon!
School Patrols
Our AMA Safety Patrol continue to support our students getting to school safely. Our Grade 6 students continue to demonstrate excellent leadership as they gain confidence in this role. Ongoing thanks and gratitude to Mr. Clarke and Mrs. Clarke for training and coordinating the students. Grade 5 students will be trained later on in the fall.
Please remember:
- Do not drop your child off in the middle of the street
- When STOP signs are held out by the patrols, please stop
- Consider parking at the bottom of the hill and having your children walk up
- Remember school begins at 8:40 am therefore students should be entering the building at 8:38 am
- All vehicles must be parked or stopped 5 meters from a crosswalk
