Updates
International World Teachers Day: October 5 is International World Teachers Day. UNESCO and Education International (EI) recognize the importance of teachers and addresses the status and situations of teachers around the world. The 2024 celebrations will focus on "Valuing teacher voices: towards a new social contract for education". The theme underscores the urgency of engaging with teachers to address the challenges they face but, most importantly, to acknowledge and benefit from the expert knowledge and input they bring to education. Ms. Hordo and Ms. McCrory treated staff to cake and coffee in recognition of our incredible Sunalta teachers. Leadership club students delivered the treats with a smile!
School Patrols
Our AMA Safety Patrols had their first crossing on Monday. We are proud of Grade 6 students that have chosen to be part of this leadership opportunity. Thanks and gratitude to Mr. Clarke and Mrs. Clarke for training and coordinating the students. Grade 5 students will be trained later on in the fall.
Please remember:
- Do not drop your child off in the middle of the street
- When STOP signs are held out by the patrols, please stop
- Consider parking at the bottom of the hill and having your children walk up
- Remember school begins at 8:40 am therefor students should be entering the building at 8:38 am
- All vehicles must be parked or stopped 5 meters from a crosswalk
