Staff Appreciation Dinner – Thanks!
Thank you so much for the lovely Staff Appreciation Dinner. It was a warm and memorable evening, and we are incredibly grateful for the thoughtfulness and care that went into every detail. A special thank you to the core committee for their hard work in creating such a beautiful and welcoming environment. From the ambiance to the speeches and the thoughtful gift, every element reflected a deep sense of appreciation and community spirit. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the families who contributed in so many different ways. Your generosity, time, and effort helped make the evening feel so meaningful and special. We feel fortunate to be part of such a kind and caring community. Thank you again for making this celebration so memorable.
June is National Indigenous History Month
June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to honour and celebrate the histories, languages, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. In alignment with the Education Plan, all people connected with the CBE are invited to deepen knowledge, understanding and relationships, to include Indigenous ways of being, belonging, doing, and knowing across schools and service units. To support planning and engagement, check out these events. Everyone is invited and welcome.
City of Calgary Aboriginal Awareness Week: From June 15-21, the City of Calgary offers many events to honour Aboriginal Awareness Week culminating on Sunday, June 21, National Indigenous Peoples Day. Everyone is invited to join the activities.
The Gathering at Moh'kinsstis: A one-day community gathering grounded in culture, connection, and ceremony to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day on Sunday, June 21 from 11 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. at ContainR Art Park & The Alexandra Centre (922 & 925 9 Avenue SE in Inglewood).
Heritage Park Celebration: A full day of community-led programming on Saturday, June 20, rooted in tradition. The centerpiece of the day is a vibrant Pow Wow, a powerful gathering that brings together dancers, drummers, and community in celebration of culture, identity and connection.
Cozy for Conservation Day
It’s here! Join us for Cozy for Conservation Day on Friday, June 5. Grade 4 students invite everyone to come to school in pajamas or cozy clothing, or to bring a favourite stuffed animal for a fun-filled day. Students are also welcome to bring a small donation to support the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area as a thank-you for the wonderful learning experiences they provide. Thank you for helping us support conservation!
Library Book Return Reminder – Due June 5
As we approach the end of the school year, we kindly ask that all library books be returned by June 5, 2026. There is a great deal of work involved in year-end library processes, and having books returned by this date will greatly support Ms. Alex and our lunchroom staff, who are helping ensure the library is in top condition before the summer break. Their efforts will help make sure everything is organized and ready for a smooth start when students return in the new school year. Thank you for your cooperation and support!
Lost and Found Reminder – Last Call!
Our school’s lost and found area is filling up quickly. All unclaimed items will be collected and bagged on June 5, 2026. Please remind your children to check the lost and found for any missing belongings before this date. Items not claimed by June 5 will be donated. Thank you for helping us keep our lost and found organized!
