📚 Sunalta School Read‑a‑Thon Reminder!
Our Read‑a‑Thon begins next week! We hope you’ve been reading up a storm and checking off those Bingo squares. Here’s a reminder of all the exciting events happening throughout the week:
📖 Author Visits – Wednesday
Kindergarten to Grade 3 - Students will meet Heather Thompson, a local author who wrote Greta the Grasshopper – Learning to Listen.
Grades 4 to 6 - Students will join an online author visit with Rud Verhagen, a Canadian author known for The Last Green Dragon.
🎭 Dress as Your Favourite Book Character – Wednesday
Students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character.
We cannot wait to see all the creative costumes!
📚 Buddy Class Read‑Alouds & Bead Bracelets – Thursday
Classes will join their buddies to visit different teachers and listen to their favourite read‑alouds. As students travel from room to room, they’ll collect different coloured beads to create their very own Read‑a‑Thon friendship bracelet.
🏕️ Camp Read‑A‑Lot – Thursday Evening & Friday Morning
During Student‑Led Conferences, families are invited to join us in the gym for Camp Read‑A‑Lot! Our gym will be transformed into a cozy campground where you can curl up together and enjoy a picture book or two—complete with a blazing (digital!) campfire.
💛 Thank You, School Council
