Educational Technology Notification
This week, we are sharing our annual Parent/Guardian Notification: Use of Educational Technology letter with families. The letter outlines the digital tools and applications that may be used to support teaching and learning at Sunalta School throughout the school year. These tools help students collaborate, create, practice skills, access learning resources, and engage in meaningful learning experiences.
All educational technology used in Calgary Board of Education schools is carefully reviewed to ensure it supports student learning and complies with privacy and security requirements, including Alberta's Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) and CBE regulations. The notification letter also includes information about what student information may be collected by each approved application and how these tools support learning.
Please take a few moments to review the letter attached to this week's email.
Thank you for partnering with us to support safe, engaging, and innovative learning opportunities for all students.
Halloween Reminder 🎃
As we look forward to celebrating Halloween at school, we kindly ask families to help ensure costumes are appropriate for an elementary school setting. Costumes should be fun and school-friendly, avoiding graphic, gory, or overly scary themes that may frighten some of our younger students (and perhaps a few staff members too!).
Please note:
- No weapons of any kind, whether real or costume replicas, are permitted at school.
- Masks are welcome as part of a costume; however, students will be asked to remove them while in the classroom during learning time so staff can easily see and communicate with them.
- Costumes should allow students to participate safely and comfortably in all school activities.
Thank you for helping us create a fun, inclusive, and positive Halloween experience for everyone! 🎃👻🧡
