Sunalta Staff Updates:

This fall, the CBE has hired hundreds of teachers, education assistants, and other school staff to support student learning. These positions have been funded by the Government of Alberta with the intention of addressing classroom complexity and class sizes. We are pleased to welcome additional new staff to our school for the 2026-27 school year:

  • Vageesha Sharma, Elementary Generalist in Grade 6
  • Natalie Warburton, Elementary Generalist in Grade 3/4
  • Gyeyoung Kim, Classroom Complexity Educational Assistant
  • Amy Lee, Educational Assistant
  • We are also welcoming David Etherington into a temporary assignment as an Elementary Generalist in Grade 3.

We are very pleased to welcome these new staff members to our school community! This additional staff will help ensure students benefit from:

  • Increased teacher attention
  • Improved classroom learning environments
  • Greater support for diverse learning needs

Administrative Regulations That Guide Our Work

Creating a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment is a shared responsibility. Key CBE Administrative Regulations that support this work include:

  • AR 6031: Promotes welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning environments for all.
  • AR 6005: Outlines student expectations and responsibilities through the Student Code of Conduct.
  • AR 6006: Supports proactive, restorative approaches to student behaviour, accountability, and positive growth.

Together, these regulations help ensure our school is a place where all students can learn, grow, and thrive. Thank you for partnering with us to support these expectations and foster a positive school community.

Safe Drop-Off and Pick-Up Reminder

As we begin Week 2, we would like to thank families for a great start to the school year. Student safety remains our highest priority, especially during busy arrival and dismissal times.

Please remember to:

  • Follow posted speed limits and remain alert.
  • Use designated drop-off and pick-up locations.
  • Keep crosswalks and bus lanes clear.
  • Have students enter and exit vehicles on the sidewalk side whenever possible.
  • Be patient as traffic moves through our school campus.

Together, we can maintain a safe, efficient, and positive experience for all students and families.
