Volunteer Opportunities

We will be needing volunteers for upcoming field trips and a variety of events in the school. Thank you to volunteer coordinator, Rizza, for coordingating all of our supports. If you have do not have a current police clearance, please consider having one done. To initiate a clearance you may come to the office with photo ID and we will provide you with the instructions. You may also choose to begin the process through Power School. Instructions

Sunalta Leadership Club

Our leadership club met this week to plan some upcoming school spirits days, hats on for mental health (May 8), the creation of a large calendar for all students to see upcoming events, and ways to have recess equipment available and in good condition. The leadership team will be assisting with our garden planters and continue to support creating a sense of belonging (particularly for our new students) at Sunalta School.

Recess Drop-in Soccer

Ms Hart and Ms Mackenzie are organizing drop-in soccer at recess and lunch for interested students. Special nets and balls have been purchased with our lunchroom fees and anyone that wants to play can come and go on a daily basis. Thank you to several staff members for volunteering their time to supervise!

Spring Concert

Our Spring Concert will be on Thursday, May 9 for division 2 students. Our tech crew and division 1 djembe club will also be performing/assisting. Doors will open at 6:15pm and the show begins promptly at 6:30pm. There will be a form for families to request tickets coming out shortly.

Recognizing Support Staff

This week students and teachers at Sunalta took time to recognize our support staff. These are the special people that ensure students are safe, our school is clean, there are books circulating in the library, students are supervised and supported at lunch time, extra support for students in classrooms, that the office runs smoothly, and so much more!  A huge thank you to our support staff – our school would not be such an incredible place to be without you!

School Council

Next school council meeting is Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30pm in the library. Grade 3 teachers will be sharing.
