Spring Concert
Our Division 2/Djembe Club Spring Concert was a musical celebration of creativity and talent. We were treated to jazz pieces with improvisation, boom whacker songs, Orff instrumentations, djembe drumming, ukuleles, and much, much more. Thank you to Mrs Catherine Irwin for directing and producing the event, staff for supervising the evening, Mr Barker for designing the new Sunalta murals, Mr Masuch for creating the hangers, staff and parent volunteers for painting the backdrops, our MCs Hayden and Theo, pianist Gavin, and all of the performers. It was a lot of fun.
Calgary Food Bank
Thanks and gratitude to everyone for bringing much needed donations for the Calgary Food Bank. We filled 7 giant boxes!
Hats on for Mental Health
Our leadership club engaged all of our students to wear their hats on Wednesday as part of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) awareness campaign for mental health. Students talked about strategies they use when they are feeling down, lonely, anxious, and frustrated. They discussed what it means to take care of your mental health and what makes you feel good. Families are encouraged to continue the conversation.
Ducklings
Our Grade 1 students in Ms Eakins class have been anxiously awaiting the hatching of their ducklings. As of today there are two ducks, Lucky and Berry, that have been chirping, chirping, chirping. All of our students have been visiting and learning about ducks and animals. What a special opportunity.
