WAG Dec. 11-15 | Winter Concert & Bake Sale, Leadership Club, Occupational Therapy Resource, Decodable Library, Student Illness

It has been exciting to look out the window and see the snow fall today. There were many excited children rolling snowballs and running around with delight. The weather also signals the time for giving and generosity. Sunalta School would like to offer families the opportunity to support two charities that are dear to our heart. The first one is the Mustard Seed and the second is Brenda’s House. With the support from School Council, we will be asking families to send in certain items to be delivered to these two agencies.

Winter Concert and Bake Sale

Our Grade 1-3 students will be presenting the musical “Flakes” on Thursday, December 14 at 1:30pm and again at 6:30pm in the Sunalta gym. Orff Club students will also be performing during these times. Specific details will be sent home on Monday. We are asking families to consider coming to either the afternoon concert OR the evening concert as space is limited. Students in grade 1-3 are expected to attend both events. Doors will open at 1:00pm and 6:00pm. All Sunalta students will have the opportunity to purchase baking the morning of Dec 14 and families may buy some special treats 30 minutes before and after the presentations. Thank you to the grade 6 parents and students for preparing the delicious baking with proceeds going to the grade 6 farewell.

Leadership Club

Representatives from all classes Grades 1-6 met with Ms Macaulay and Ms McCrory to decide on some school spirit activities to begin December 15. Stay tuned for more information!

Occupational Therapy Resource

CBE has provided families and staff with an exceptional website. Check it out https://sites.google.com/educbe.ca/cbe-occupational-therapy/home

Decodable library

As our students are learning to read and develop their literacy skills, we thought we would share this fabulous resource with families. If you have questions, please contact your child’s teacher https://sites.google.com/educbe.ca/cbe-decodable-digital-library

Student Illness

There has been a slight increase in the number of students and staff illnesses. If your child is not feeling well, it is important for them to stay home. Please consider having a plan in place should your child become sick at school so they are picked up in a reasonable amount of time.
