From all of the beautiful staff at Sunalta School, we wish all of our students and families a very happy, safe, rejuvenating time together. We hope you have many moments to create some wonderful memories as well as time to share in the season of generosity and kindness.

Warm Feet for the Street (Mustard Seed), Children’s Cottage, and Brenda’s House

Students are proud of their efforts to collect items for these three important organizations that support our Calgary community. We were able to stuff 60 socks with items for people at the mustard seed and gather some great toys, books, and games for Brenda’s house. Thank you to parents Cindy L and Lindsay S for coordinating and delivering the items. Board Member Ray and Volunteer Coordinator Paula received the donations and wanted to pass on their gratitude to our parent and student population for their generosity.

In-line Skating

We are looking forward to our first residency of the school year with Alien In-line skating. For students new to inline skating, we will be using special skates to be able to skate around the gym and learn some tricks. It is a student pleaser for sure! Sunalta will also be hosting a family skate event on January 18 after school. Students should bring their own helmet if possible (but not mandatory). All equipment is provided. It is important to return the one page acknowledgement of risk. School Spirit

Sunalta had some fun moments celebrating some school spirit throughout the week. Thank you to Mr. Barker for his guided drawing of the Grinch, Mr Masuch for leading the carolling (and Santa on Thursday), our school leadership team, our council for supplying candy canes, Ms Macaulay and Ms Gulewicz for coordinating the fun, and all of our families for supporting the festivities.
