Thanks and Gratitude
Thank you to Kristi N and the School Council team for organizing our second annual Hallowe’en Scavenger Hunt in the Scarboro community. What a great way to spend an afternoon!
Leadership Club
Ms Macaulay and Ms McCrory are starting a leadership club on Mondays at lunch. Two representatives from each class will be participating in a monthly meeting. The intent is to provide student leaders with the opportunity to share ideas and feedback from their classrooms to make our school an even better place to be. Our focus will be on building a sense of belonging for every student at Sunalta and developing our school culture.
Sunalta Reads
We are looking for adult reading volunteers that would be interested in supporting students in learning to read. There will be a training session during the day on November 7. The commitment would be 1 hour once or twice a week for 8 weeks for this term. Please email Ms Hart at lahart@cbe.ab.ca if you are interested. You must have be cleared through our clearance process as a volunteer to be considered.
Interpreters/Translators
Sunalta school is able to provide interpreters (translators) for meetings. When having academic conversations about students, it is sometimes helpful to have an interpreter to ensure information and conversations are understood. If you would like an interpreter for our November 23/24 Student Learning Conferences, please contact Mrs. Hart at lahart@cbe.ab.ca

Show your school pride and enthusiasm for Halloween and the colour orange by participating in Sunalta’s PUMPKINELLA!
Can you make the scariest, the most humorous, the most creative, the most original, the cutest, the largest, the happiest, the pumpkin that most resembles a famous person or character, the most charming or elegant pumpkin, the silliest, the most environmentally friendly pumpkin or the pumpkin that most resembles a scene or character from your favourite book?? You probably can! There will be one of many categories that your pumpkin might win.
BE CREATIVE! CARVE HARD!
When should you bring your carved pumpkin to school?
Bring your pumpkin to school on Tuesday, October 31st. Proudly display your pumpkin creation on the side of the gym on a table. You should use the Teachers Parking Lot doors to bring in your pumpkin but NOT park in the Teachers Parking Lot. Bring it anytime after 8am.
Who is allowed to carve the pumpkin?
This is a family carving contest so anyone in your family (mom, dad, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, uncle, etc.) is permitted to help you.
Have you completed the 2023-2024 forms in SchoolEngage?
It is very important we have current demographic, citizenship, and annual authorizations for your child. If you have not updated your information, please do so as soon as possible. If you require support, please contact Sunalta Office.

- You can subscribe to these commercial messages by clicking this link - Subscribe Online which will take you to School Messenger (our mass communication tool).
