Dear Sunalta families,
This week Sunalta students participated in our first whole-school assembly of the 2024-2025 school year. Hadyn and Tara read the Land Acknowledgement followed by the singing of O Canada. Staff introduced themselves and we sang our Sunalta song and a campfire song led by Mr. Clarke. Mrs Korpesio and Mrs Hugh explained our recycling program and how to recycle juice containers (fundraiser for the school). Our students were very respectful and attentive during the assembly. We look forward to inviting families to join our assemblies later on this year.
Thank you for reading all of our updates. All information is posted regularly on our school website. Sunalta School will share updates each week followed by announcements from School Council.
Sunalta Open House
Families are invited to attend our annual Sunalta Open House on Thursday, September 26. Teachers will be in their classrooms and students and parents are encouraged to come and view the classroom and learn about school routines and opportunities/events. The school will be open from 6:00-7:30pm. More information will be posted on your child’s Google Classroom.
School Safety
Our school patrols will begin crossing students in a few weeks as part of our leadership opportunities at Sunalta. Safety is our highest priority and we work together to ensure all students understand our safety rules. Please be vigilant in obeying crosswalk rules and drop off/pick up routines. We practiced our first Fire Drill on Thursday and students followed our exit routine with respect and silence. Well done!
